Accessibility statement

JobDiary is built for people who work with their hands, on whatever phone is in the van. The website should work for everyone, whatever way you read, point or tap.

Our standard

We work to WCAG 2.1 Level AA (the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) across this site. As a microenterprise with fewer than 10 employees, JobDiary is currently exempt from enforcement under the European Accessibility Act. We have adopted WCAG 2.1 AA voluntarily because our service should be usable by everyone, exemption or not.

What we already do

• Colour contrast checked against AA for text on every background we use.
• Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus style and a skip link.
• Animations are subtle, and switched off entirely when your device asks for reduced motion.
• Touch targets are sized for working hands: 44px or bigger.
• Semantic HTML throughout: real headings, real lists, real buttons, labelled form fields.
• The FAQ uses native disclosure elements that screen readers announce properly.

Known limitations

The illustration at the top of our homepage shows a paper diary with stylised handwriting. The writing in it is artwork, not readable text, and nothing it shows is information you need: everything the picture says, the page says in plain text too.
